The web platform Slovak Drama in Translation launched by the Theatre Institute in 2013 presents the work of contemporary Slovak playwrights translated to various languages (English, French, German, Russian, Czech, etc.). It contains the plays and short biographies of various authors, from the oldest (Ján Solovič, Osvald Zahradník), the middle generation (Viliam Klimáček, Eva Maliti- Fraňová, Anna Grusková, Silvester Lavrík, Iveta Horváthová...), to their younger colleagues, but already established authors (Roman Olekšák, Jakub Nvota, Peter Pavlac, Peter Scherhaufer, Michaela Zakuťanská...). The website is constantly updated with new information. The separate section is devoted to the project GREEN DRAMA initiated by the Theatre Institute in 2020. A collection of 15 new eco-oriented plays was first published in Slovak and then, in 2021, it was translated into English. The similar project Odes or Farces searched for the new texts that reflected the position of Slovakia within the European Union. Three plays from the original collection of 19 short plays have been translated into French.
The Theatre Institute in Bratislava supports the creation and presentation of original plays in many other ways. In 2000 the Drama competition of original dramatic texts in Slovak or Czech languages was established. The Nová dráma/New Drama Festival was founded in 2005 as the annual presentation and competition of Slovak and foreign new plays on Slovak stages. Translations of new Slovak plays were published in French, English, German and Hungarian languages.
